Classes

STELLA ADLER said: "Your talent is in your choices." Marjorie has built upon this philosophy, stating: "The greatest justification gets the job."

Marjorie Ballentine provides acting classes at all levels, offering a wide range of skills areas, such as Scene Study, Technique, Script Analysis, Character Development, and Audition Technique.

Miss Ballentine has designed these classes to equip the actor with a solid, specific, and dependable craft that he will use throughout his career.

"The actor who masters his craft should be able to eliminate all that is 'accidental' in his process, and create a solid foundation on which to build his talent, bringing his own individual voice to all his work."

Marjorie Ballentine coaches actors both privately and on set.

MASTER CLASS - SCENE STUDY Wednesday 7:00 – 11:0
This class further enhances the artistic collaboration among actor, director, and writer, further exploring the actor's understanding that he is the instrument: the voice, the physical, the mind, the soul: all must function as one unit. This training is designed to achieve the full integration of the disciplines needed to develop an actor who is centered, confident, and persevering. The actor must reclaim his dignity as an artist and seek work with confidence and know-how in an industry that demands professionalism, toughness, confidence, and fluency in his overall presentation.
This class may be taken alone or in conjunction with the On-Camera Technique/Character class.

ON-CAMERA TECHNIQUE/CHARACTER Monday 7-11
This is an ON-CAMERA class designed to equip the actor with a solid, specific, and dependable craft that he will use throughout his career. In introducing character work through the processes of audition technique, scene study, and fundamental technique exercises, which Miss Ballentine studied intensively with the late Stella Adler, the actor learns the processes of working not only from the inside - out but also from the outside – in: from external character elements to internal experience and psychological point of view. This class serves as the "bridge" to the Master Class.

Work is reviewed in class on a large screen at our new theater.
